How to clean eco-friendly leather?

When it comes to cleaning eco-friendly leather, you need to be careful and follow proper steps. First, you should prepare some basic cleaning tools and materials. Get a soft, clean cloth. It's better if it's a lint-free cloth so that it won't leave any bits on the leather when you clean. You also need a mild soap or a special leather cleaner that is suitable for eco-friendly leather.

Before you start cleaning the whole item, test the cleaner on a small, hidden area of the leather. For example, if it's an eco-friendly leather bag, you can test it on the bottom or an inside corner. Dab a little bit of the cleaner on the cloth and gently rub it on that small area. Wait for a while to see if there's any discoloration or damage to the leather. If everything looks okay, then you can proceed with the cleaning.

Next, dampen the cloth slightly with water. Don't make it too wet as you don't want a lot of water to seep into the leather. Then, put a small amount of the mild soap or leather cleaner on the damp cloth. Gently wipe the surface of the eco-friendly leather in a circular motion. If there are stains or dirt marks on it, you can focus on those areas a bit more but still be gentle. For instance, if there's a bit of food stain on an eco-friendly leather wallet, keep wiping gently until the stain starts to fade away.

After cleaning, use another clean, damp cloth with just water to wipe off any remaining soap or cleaner from the leather. This helps to prevent any residue from building up on the leather which could affect its appearance or quality later.

Finally, let the eco-friendly leather air dry in a well-ventilated area. Don't use a hairdryer or put it in direct sunlight to speed up the drying process as the heat can damage the leather. Once it's dry, you can check if it needs any further care like applying a leather conditioner to keep it soft and supple.
